Combines the Bahariya Oasis, from the ancient Egyptians to the modern Oaseans, with an off-road safari and Bedouin camping in the White Desert.
DAY 1: Arrive to the Oasis and your hotel. Bahariya's Ethnic museum and local tour thru the palm groves, Old Town, and Pyramid Mountain. Relax in the rejuvenating hot springs. Overnight: Bedouin Castle.
DAY 2: White Desert Safari: Black Desert, Aqabat, Flower Desert, Ain Hadra, Tent Valley. Bedouin Camping & BBQ under the stars.
DAY 3: White Desert, Crystal Mt. Live music oasis party in the Bedouin Tent. Overnight: Bedouin Castle.
DAY 4: Valley of the Golden Mummies museum, ancient Egyptian tombs. Return to Cairo.
Option A) Continue to Luxor from the white Desert via the Dakhla and Kharga oases and Baris.
Option B) Same as Option A except take the northern route to Luxor, stopping at Abydos.

DAY 1; Cairo to Siwa. Visit Deir el-Bishoi (2nd c AD monastery). Overnight: The Shali Lodge
DAY 2: Temple of the Oracle, Amun temple, Cleopatra's Bath/Spring, Mountain of the Dead. Afternoon off-road safari into the Great Sand Sea. Overnight: Shali Lodge.
DAY 3: Siwa Lake, Ptolemaic temple, Fatna Springs, ancient Berber town "Shali." Overnight: Shali Lodge. Option: Berber spa treatments.
DAY 4: Return to Cairo
Option A) Bahariya, return Cairo.
Option B) Bahariya, local tour. Overnight: Bedouin Cast. Return to Cairo next day.
Option C) Bahariya, local tour, Overnight: Bedouin Castle. NEXT DAY: White Desert safari/camping. THIRD DAY: Return Cairo.
Combine the Bahariya oasis & White Desert with Minya tombs, Amarna, and the Meidum pyramid. Option: Beni Hassan & Dashur pyramids.
DAY 1: Arrive to Bahariya. Oasis tour. Overnight: Bedouin Castle.
Option: Live music party.
DAY 2: White Desert Safari (same as Tour #1). Overnight: Bedouin Camping
DAY 3: Return to Bahariya. Continue to Minya. Thoth tomb at Gebel el-Tuna. Overnight: Minya hotel
DAY 4: Amarna. Travel north to the Medium pyramid. Drop off in Cairo.
Option A) Extra night Minya hotel, Beni Hassan tombs & Dashur's Bent and North pyramids.
Option B) No pyramids. Instead go south & overnight Assiut hotel. Next day: Abydos and Dendera temples. Drop off at Luxor hotel.
Option C) all of Option B but continue your tour with us to include Luxor antiquities and a Nile cruise.
This off-road adventure takes you thru amazing scenery and ancient forts & temples along the routes of the ancient travelers between Bahariya, Dakhla, Kharga, and Lebekha.
DAY 1: This safari begins in Bahariya at noon with the classic White Desert Safari and camping.
DAY 2: all off-road east of Farafra, through the steep mt passes of the ancient Farafra/Dakhla caravan route to the Sentinels for camping.
DAY 3: Visit Qasr and Balat in Dakhla oasis as well as Umm Dubadib in the deep desert. Overnight: camping.
DAY 4: Visit ancient Egyptian/Persian Hibis temple and Bagawat necropolis in Kharga oasis. On to Lebekha for camping and exploration of ancient fortress, temple and rock tombs. Swimming pool and showers available.
DAY 5: Travel to Luxor via Paris (south route) or Abydos (east route). Drop off at Luxor hotel.
Option: Continue touring Egypt with us thru Luxor's antiquities and cruise to Aswan.
Our desert safaris can be as short as two days (including to/from Cairo) or as long as you wish. Please call or email us so we can put together the safari of your dreams. Desert army permission required (we secure it).
1) Wadi Hittan: site of many dinosaur skeletons; west of the Fayoum oasis.
2) Dj'ara Cave: east of Bahariya. Huge stactite and stalagmite cave filled with prehistoric rock art etching.
3) Great Sand Sea: the best and biggest sand dune field ever. Prehistoric rock art, meteorite falls, Millions of years-old sea shells.
4) Gilf Kebir: Far southwest corner of Egypt. Many spectacular cliffs, wadis and caves filled with prehistoric rock art. Site of ancient lake and civilization about 10,000 yrs ago
5) Uwaynet Desert: adjacent to and south of the Gilf in Sudan. Same as the Gilf in content but more rock art and less spectacular mts and valleys
6) Nabta Playa. West of Abu Simbel. Site of world's first astronomical Stonehenge (ca 6000 BC); civilization dates to ca 10,000 BC.
Tours include: all transportation and drivers to/from the Bahariya oasis. We can arrange transport to/from Cairo. Expert antiquities and desert guide, experienced desert off & on-road drivers. All camping equipment: windbreaks, tents, carpets, tables, sleeping bags, matresses, cooking and eating equipment, tea, coffee, large water bottle per day p/p. All food for three meals per day. All antiquities and site tickets, desert and army permission.
Not included: all personal items and perscriptions. Flashlights, cameras, phones (except satellite when required), charging units for electronics (Bring your own to hook up to jeep battery or via lighter). Beer, wine or sodas (we can bring at extra cost and prior notice). Insect repellant or sunscreen.
Recommended to bring: clothing layers and jackets (winter nights very cold), ziplock bags for any electronics (sand protection), sunglasses and sun hats (baseball caps are great - stay on head when windy). Still have questions? Feel free to ask!
